System Overview: Ruac is a sprawling jungle and rainforest rich world, with the entire surface, apart from some small oceans, covered with exotic flora, with most trees averaging 250 meters tall. Trade and tourism rule the economy. The Empire also has an Imperial base on the world primarily focused of administration, and military training. The system is well patrolled, with a highly visible stormtrooper presence and due to the due to the number of non-military personnel, Imperial bureaucrats of every government levels can be found everywhere you turn.
Reminiscent of the platforms constructed by the Wookiees on Kashyyyk, the populace of Ruac live on huge, specially constructed plastic platforms, built amid the gigantic branches of the trees. From the lowest of the platforms, one can look down more than 60 meters to the floor of the rainforest. The colonists move from one platform to another by means of a complex series of bridges, stairs and turbolifts.
There is no intelligent, native lifeforms on Ruac, but the world is teeming with non-sentient creatures. Some of these creatures remain close to the planet’s surface and are rarely seen by the tree-dwelling colonists. One creature however has become a bit of tourist attraction itself. The Wok-Woks, a relatively friendly three eyed reddish furred monkey-like scavenger, native to the planet, can be found often, roaming the platforms. Stories often circulate that some have been domesticated by local street urchins, in order to pick pocket unsuspecting tourists.
Due to the ecosystem, capital ships are not allowed within the atmosphere of the world. As a result, a large orbital platform was constructed, large enough to cater for most ships up to and including Imperial Star Destroyers, although the presence of a ship that size will effectively shut the station down to any other larger ships due to it being only large enough to fit one ship of that type.
