System Overview: Qi’Ibire is one of the most inhospitable planets in the Dominus Sector, and yet one that has the highest population. The planet is covered with vast, deep craters, rocky terrain and literally hundreds of active volcanoes, but a multitude of dense cities dot the surface of the planet. A large axial tilt and a highly elliptical orbit make for extremes of temperatures, driving a highly unpredictable and notoriously unpleasant weather system which results in severe dust storms. A majority of the work that is conducted on the planet is mining, however some trade and construction is centered in the main cities. A majority of the population are destitute and living on the poverty line. Crime is high, and the local security forces employed by the cities are the only thing that stands between civility and total anarchy.
Possibly the most dangerous thing on the planet is not lava eruptions, or ash clouds which can render a ship useless, but the world’s owner – Treshka the Hutt. The Hutt has only recently “acquired” the world after a terrible accident occurred where the former Governor, and rumoured Vigo of the Black Sun Crime Syndicate, was killed whilst escaping the destruction of his base of operations, a space station resting in orbit over the planet. Further rumours persist that a team of operatives were sent to destroy the base from within, whilst all report suggest that a critical error caused the reactor to overload. 700 civilians were killed during the blast, and the station’s debris remains in orbit, dangerously circling the planet.
Qi’Ibre, given its massive population, is relatively isolated, something that Treska is enjoying immensely. Treshka, a Hutt who has taken on the persona of a female of her species, has been known to play both sides of whatever conflict she has managed to get herself into, and the current situation created by the Empire’s recent takeover of the Galactic Republic is no exception. Treshka is no newcomer to the political stage, having been involved in a gang war between herself and a Hutt named Bellouc in the Araxian Sector shortly before the start of the Clone Wars. As a result, Treshka has insured her own survival by collecting hard to find information on every major bureaucrat and Imperial Officer in the Sector. This feat alone has kept the Empire off her door-step – that and the fact that she supplies a substantial “tax” of precious metals found on the world to the sector Moff.
Her influence across the sector is no secret amongst those in the underworld, and is something Treshka prides herself in, primarily as it verifies that her web of info-merchants is wide reaching, and acts as a warning to those who wish to cross her. Although not believed to be affiliated with Black Sun, Treska has certainly made advances towards the organisation which have indicated her interest in taking over as Black Sun Vigo in this area of space.
Recently, certain elements within Black Sun whom had been loyal to the former Governor, have taken a disliking to the Hutt’s meddling, and sent one of their best operatives, a Gotal Bounty Hunter named Ertan Scellan, and his associate, an assassin droid named T.O.B.U.R.K. to deal with Treska and reclaim their world. Ertan subsequently hired a gang of mercenaries to assist, but unfortunately for them, Treska’s minions were able to hold off the Bounty Hunter and his gang, to the point where all the gang members were killed, the assassin droid was destroyed, and Scellan was critically injured. Scellan was soon after patched up, and subsequently thrown into Treska’s dungeon cells until she can work out what to do with him.
