Prously’s Rim Run

Located on the borders of Wild Space, in the distant Galactic North-East corner within the galactic region known as The Slice, a section of space located between the Perlemian Trade Route and the Corellian Trade Spine which has been described as the “cradle of galactic civilization”, lies an isolated sector called Dominus.

GALACTIC POSITION

The sector, which is positioned in the Outer Rim Territories (designation U7-0946/0272) contains over 25 individually explored systems, including the garden world capital of Dominus, the jungle covered world of Ruac, the mysterious Solanus system, and the harsh desert world of Solay. Further worlds of interest Baros, arid home world to the reptilian race called the Brubb; Dorneans, the centre of trade in the sector and home world of the technologically formidable Dorneans; and Lekaz, only the second system in the galaxy to contain a habitable floating city hanging high above the clouds of the gaseous planet below similar to its sister city of Bespin.

TRADE ROUTES

At least one major hyperspace route, Prously’s Rim Run, runs through the sector, linking Baros and Dornea to the neighbouring Calamari Sector. Prously’s Rim Run is so named after its founder, the Quarren Explorer Ishtelen Prously who was credited with the hyper-lane’s discovery after he intercepted a transmission from the Brubbs of Baros. Prously has also been credited with establishing several other trade routes in the sector, and his effigy stands proudly in the centre of Dornea’s capital city.

Several smaller routes connect Dornea to its sister world, and capital of the sector – the Dominus system, however the Empire has seen to routes to Dornea be placed under heavy surveillance and taxation. Dornea however remains the jewel of the sector, and appears mostly unaffected by the Empire’s actions, until recently. Meanwhile, rumours continue to suggest that the Empire is making inroads with establishing other major supply runs in order to potentially bypass Dornea altogether, with Ruac being a potential candidate to take over from Dornea. Problems however have been discovered due to the system’s proximity to Endooine, and with the debris which spews out from time to time from the Dark Nebula.

TRAVEL ADVISORIES AND WARNINGS

Several systems in the Dominus Sector have been flagged by the Bureau of Ships and Services (BoSS) as areas possibly avoided or some cases restricted.

The systems of Isleis, and Trailia have been designed as red-zones, indicating no travel is permitted to civilian transports. Permits may be obtained through Imperial channels for supply runs to Isleis, however only registered contractors for Imperial Cargo are permitted to enter the Trailia System.

The systems of Dorena, Solay and Zad’Ser have been listed as Amber-Zones and are not recommended for travel. Dornea has been listed here due to some civil unrest being experienced. Travel advisories indicate that Dornea is on the bring of civil war due to the actions of its military governments and their failure to accept terms of the Empire. The Solay System, in contrast, is in the midst of a civil war which started well before the Empire took control. The fighting has been marginally been reduced since the Empire arrived, but dissidents still fail to see the Empire’s efforts in bringing peace. It is for this reason that the warning has been issues, and from time to time, has been known to be ungraded to a red-zone. Finally, the Zad’Ser system has been listed as an amber-zone due to the nature of the system in that the entire system is a debris field, called by a natural disaster thousands of years ago. Archeologists, scouts and treasure hunters are known to travel to the system, and the system has been the occasional home to pirate gangs. The travel advisory is in place for Zad’Ser due to the fact that no bases are present, and that help for stranded ships is so far away.
