STAR WARS: The Darkness Saga
CAMPAIGN - Background
The Veil of Darkness Campaign is set 5 years after the formation of the Empire. The Jedi are all but extinct, but there are some members of the Jedi Order who received Obi-Wan’s transmission warning, and the scum and villainy of the galaxy are enjoying their “golden age” as the galaxy is in a state of flux as the Galactic Empire takes control. However, as the Empire takes control, countless alien species are completely wiped out, or have established agreements with the xenophobic Empire to keep them and their peoples alive. Aliens though are not the only ones to feel the Empire’s wrath, as hundreds of world are caught in the wake of battles with former separatist colonies, or consumed by the Empire’s rolling war machine. The galaxy at large, is turning into a much harder place to live.
Assassinations, bribery, corruption, debt, shady business dealings, murder and everything in between are common amongst the ever widening cracks the have been caused in the wake of the Clone Wars. It is in these crevasses and shadows that our campaign takes place. Many questions will be answered during the course of the campaign including how the Empire actually took control of so many systems so quickly, what happened with all of the Clones at the end of the Clone Wars and where did the spark of rebellion actually formed.
The campaign will have a sandbox structure, with a majority of the background designed without player input. The stories during the campaign will then focus on events as they occur outside of the characters control, and of the stories of the characters themselves in particular elements of their back-stories and how they interact with the overall plot. In order to facilitate this, I will be setting the types of characters that I am looking for. These are covered in the Character Concepts section of character creation.
My intention is to run a trilogy of “books”, with twelve (12) “episodes” contained within the each book. Each “book” will have a theme running throughout. An episode will consist of one or two game sessions.
